I acknowledge that I live and work in Wabanaki Territory. The place we now call Maine was first stewarded by the Abenaki, Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Maliseet, and Micmac Tribes. While many Wabanaki people still live here, many of their lands were forcibly taken from them. They have faced injustices and oppression since the arrival of European settlers. I support their sovereignty and honor their connection to this land.
